Description
An outwardly restrained appearance nevertheless allows a bold entry into the interior of the house: A long, straight, two-storey staircase opens up a spacious air space with surprising views and light effects. Cut-in loggias and partly high storeys with floor-to-ceiling windows continue this spatial element of surprise. The exterior masonry of rumbled stone, first milled several times and then sanded by hand, creates a bright, lively surface that underlines the elegance of the harmoniously proportioned building and accompanies the visitor along the stairs into the building. Without being handcrafted decoratively, the new building with its unique and at the same time timeless appearance finds its place in Hamburg, which is characterized by bricks.
The new office building won the Special Mention award at the German Design Award 2022.
